Widow Centauri is a graduate student in Southern California who has a decade of ethnographic field research in the area of professional domination. Since 1997 Widow Centauri has worked as a professional dominatrix. Through this experience she has created a forthcoming book and a one-woman show about her life as a professional dominatrix.

Her current research project is focused on gender variant neologisms, new words refereeing to gender (i.e. grrrl, boi, hir, shim, ze). Widow Centauri will be recruiting transpeople for her study soon. An online survey will be available on this site and in person interviews will be conducted through the Fall of 2009 and Spring of 2010.

Widow Centauri instructs over 30 different workshops on sexuality. She is currently working on developing these into an academic course on alternative sexuality. These workshops are currently being offered at Dungeon Servitus in downtown San Diego. They are open to the public provided that you RSVP in advance. Widow Centauri also writes and performs comedy. She has been seen on Comedy Central, Showtime, NBC, and featured in several SAG feature films. See her CV (on her blog) for a detailed list of appearances, presentations offered, and publications.

    Widow Centauri does still work as a professional dominatrix as time allows. She is currently only accepting new clients who are transgendered, into water sports, or have such a fondness for rubber clothing that they are willing to take her on shopping trips in New York, Berlin, and Tokyo to find the perfect rubber outfit.
